I saw 'em in there.
REALLY cool sound.
My friend used one in the studio once.
I have no idea how he mic'ed it, or what mic,
but it came out super on the recording.
Nice effect.

I feel that every time you detune, change a key or adjust the song that you mess with the sound and feel of the music--my suggestion would be to pick songs that you are comfortable with and to design your set list so that you are not doing the most demanding vocal parts at the end of the night. Als...

That's crazy talk.. Get a pitchshifter. Do they make them thar things ? Good ones? Boss Pedal Style / Size? If they do, our bass player jams a 5 string, so it wouldn't even bother him. We could just do it for the songs that need it or that were originally recorded that way I appreciate all the feed...

Tune my guitar (or have it set up actually) to DGCFAd. That way I can employ different voicings for open (folk) chords, plus have a slightly deeper tone. Then if I want to play in standard (EADGBa) tuning, a capo (which I have on me all the time... :P ) on the second fret would make it like a regul...

Thanks Ric, This weekend at the Dockside ( that place freakin' ROCKS ) I hit the dance floor for a solo, and was quickly sandwiched between two hotties. For whatever reason, each one decided to grab an ass-cheek (mine) and hold-on for dear life! When I finally made it back to the stage, I couldn't s...

Thanks, and yeah, I chug Gatoraid like it's going out of style. I think my interest may be to incorporate songs that are "just outside" my normal range and to sing songs that were recorded a half step down. (without bringing an army of guitars to the gig) We just tried a few tunes at pract...

Drop a Half Step for Live Performance ?

Drop a Half Step for Live Performance ?

I sing lead on about 45 classic rock cover tunes per gig.
I'm thinking about drop tuning a half step.
I'm concerned it will change the "flavor" of certain songs.

Will anyone notice?

Who does?

Who doesn't?

Pro's or Cons?

Usually the spring and fall to keep up with the climate change. She "let's me know" when it's time . I'll be jamin' along and either my fingers start tripping up or I'll "fret out" a bend or pick up a nasty buzz. The intonation rarely changes. The neck is usually the only thing t...

Bogner Ecstasy. It's everything I need all in one box. Well, two... speakers help. 'Cause I swear the Shiva 2x12 combo weighs more than my Marshall 4x12s! hey did you get an Ecstasy ?!? I 'member when you were asking about my Shiva. If so, that's cool. I'm glad for you. It's probably better for you...
