Re: Finally, some *really* nice looking e-drums...

IMO, buying a drum brain is moot since you can just get a TMC and wire it up to BFD and get whatever drum sounds and samples you want. I sold my Roland module a few years ago and have never looked back.

Re: Finally, some *really* nice looking e-drums...

Pintech has been doing them for years for Pearl, along with any other kit you want to ship them under the "Acoustech" name. The technology for the Acoustech line and all of Pintech's drums is licensed from Roland, so the feel is very close and of course the price is much much better. https...

Drummers: Ride cymbal survey...

Out of curiosity...

What is your main ride cymbal?
What style of music does it get used for?
How much did you pay for it?
How long have you had it?
If you could change one thing about it, it would be....

I've probably put Paul's kids through college by now...

Evans EMAD and Aquarian Super Kick II should be in stock all the time in all sizes. Those are pretty much the industry standards for kick heads.

(ps, haven't called Paul yet since he's not open yet, but last time I needed one, he didn't have any)

Drummers: bass drum size??

I'm really aggravated right now because no one locally seems to stock 24" ANYTHING. It's not this super rare size, sooooo....?? What gives? I could see if I was rocking a 28", but 24" is a typical rock size. Now I have to pay $29 to overnight the fucking thing to have it in time for a...

I was at BDO yesterday and Paul had a real nice Kent upstairs. I didn't play it, so who knows what it sounds like, but it sure looked interesting!

I'm guessing the posters on these boards are mostly young(er) folks. I post on another board where probably 90% of the folks there would have said Ludwig. But, most of them are old studio and jazz guys.

Jeff - the newer Luds have bigger keystone badges, probably twice the size of the vintage badges. These are also smaller sized drums (the two up top ar 10/12 respectively) so it's probably making them look bigger than they actually are also! Dutch - they are indeed Pearl mounts, and don't worry, I'v...

new (to me) drums

Here are the victims I won on Ebay for a song. Still in disbelief that I got them so cheaply. mid 90s Ludwig classics, all virgin shells w/ Rims mounts. 10/12/14/24. I almost didn't bid because they're green, not a favorite color of mine, but figured if i won them cheaply I would just restain. but n...
