If you like jazz, swing, dixie land - then you will love these guys. Depending on the gig they might have up to 8 pieces - trumpet, trombone, sax, clarinet, keys, bass, drums, guitar, vocals. They also attract other musicians for sitting in.
I caught a couple hours of them at the Irishman last weekend, and was blown away by how good they were. It's very much an old school jazz setup with a ton of swing, group dynamics, solo trading, etc. Their catalog is deep, and they were tight on everything they did. The group dynamics were particularly impressive with the band playing about 90% acoustic, and being able to lay back in the mix while others took leads. You could tell they are well rehearsed.
I may be a little biased because we share a band member with these guys, but I was still impressed. Actually I was little jealous too.
Anyway if dig really any style of jazz from the 20's on, you'll enjoy this band.
