What a difference three years makes. Lucius went from being the five-piece Rolling Stone claimed was the “Best Band you’ve never heard of” to the group you can’t get enough of.

Fronted by the sleek and compelling look-alike twosome of Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig and backed by their counterpart bandmates Dan Molad, Pete Lalish and Andy Burri, Lucius spent more than 250 days on the road in the past year. They’ve sold out shows big and small, headlined all over the US and Europe, played slots at Bonnaroo, Newport Folk Festival, Lollapalooza, End of The Road, Reading and Leeds Festivals and more and shared the stage with a variety of musicians including Roger Waters, Jack White, Mavis Staples, Jeff Tweedy, Sara Bareilles, The Head and the Heart, Tegan and Sara and David Byrne.

Come stomp your feet with some of your favorite Folk Babes!

The Observers - Always a foot-stomping good time, this exceptional band will find it’s way into your heart by the end of the night and keep you dancing till the cows come home.

Doorway Talkers - Starting as a singer-songwriter looking to find a common ground with her audience, Hannah has transformed from a sweet and somber solo project, to a foot stomping folk-rock band that is always a good time.

After releasing her first album in 2014, the full-length was featured as Buffablog’s album of the week and noted as a “Joanna Newsom-esque eccentricity that complements her songs’ sunny instrumentation.” ( http://www.buffablog.com/tag/hannah-weidner/ )

With members from Passive Aggressives Anonymous, Dangerbyrd, and Hardwood, strong lyrics are the backbone of this folk-rock band. These Rochester sweethearts will keep your feet stomping and bodies grooving for a guaranteed good time.

Folkfaces – It’s in the name people! These amazingly talented musicians will bring the folk straight to your faces in the most majestic way possible.

Buffalo Debut Performance

Chad Hollister Band hails from Vermont. They have been evolving and touring the country for over 20 years. Anthony J. Resta (Collective Soul, Elton John, Shawn Mullins) says “Hollister’s music is pure sonic alchemy” which means it’s damn good in Vermont terms! Chad has opened for Bob Dylan, Paul Simon and Tom Petty and has shared the stage w/ every PHISH member, Billy Gibbons, Merl Saunders, Warren Haynes and Blues Traveler. His music is a voice for the Positive and reminds you that life is truly a gift as is the ability to share it through music.

DAVEY O. and his songs are Buffalo, NY. They are your hometown. Songs born from a work ethic instilled by a factory working father; steeped in time, then written like a conversation with your next door neighbor and as comfortable as a well-worn pair of shoes. These are the stories of American life. Songs of labor, love, laughter, sorrow, life and death, baptized in waters drawn from a deep and timeless well.
Equal parts songwriter and storyteller, Buffalo’s Davey O. has been recognized on a national level for his past two CD releases with multiple honors among the “best of“ lists of several Folk & Roots radio stations, and as a 2013 New Folk Finalist at the prestigious Kerrville Folk Festival. Davey has also earned the respect of his peers for his incredible work ethic, performing an average of 120 dates per year, and for his constant dedication to the art of song craft. With a journalist’s eye for detail and poet’s ear for the well-turned observation, Davey O. finds the universal in the particular, turning day-to-day minutiae into dusty paeans to the indomitability of the human spirit. With each tale another slice of life examined.

7pm Doors 8pm Show |Tuesday, November 15

Mount Moriah released How to Dance, their third full-length record, on February 26.

Their first single is “Cardinal Cross”, the cardinal grand cross is one of the most difficult astrological alignments to achieve, and the Greek mythological figure Chiron represents wisdom and healing. The song “Cardinal Cross” illustrates these elements both lyrically and sonically, introducing us to the album with furious energy and clarity of vision. The addition of horns heightens the drama as the guitars swirl and Heather McEntires voice seems to summon what she seeks.

Tickets: $15 advance, $20 day of show available at Ticketweb.com, Babeville Box Office (M-F 10a-5p), or charge by phone 866-777-8932.

7pm Doors 8pm Show | Wednesday, November 30

Jeffrey Foucault returns to the 9th Ward this November.

A show played perfectly to an empty bar. A singer with life and death on his shoulders, swinging a microphone like Samson swung a jawbone. The real ones who die with nothing half the time. With Salt As Wolves – his fifth collection of original songs – Jeffrey Foucault gives us what poet and author Chris Dombrowski calls in the album’s liner notes, “that rare artistic combination of a voice and a world:” a tough, spare collection of darkly rendered blues and ballads, like a field recording of a place that never existed. In a series of letters to lovers, friends, heroes, and family, Foucault deftly weaves together disparate strands of sound and experience, raw love, and hard wisdom. Jeffrey Foucault released Salt As Wolves on October 16 via Blueblade Records.
