I used my buddies RMZ (or V? i can't recall) they were really nice, loud too, i'm a fan of vintage rogers, ludwigs, Yahmahas, or DW's. each kit is good in different situations

I'm a little late to the party with a vote, but my vote is for Taye. My studio Maple set sounds amazing, and sounds close to the Gretsch Reknown series (but better!). This isn't surprising since, if I remember correctly, Taye began in the 70's by making shells for other drum companies, one of them being Gretsch. Rest assured, Taye drums sing!

I've played Luwigs since the early 70's,but I switched to Sonor a couple of years ago and I really like them .Of course I still use my Ludwig supraphonic snare
