Break some toothpicks up to the same depth as the cavity.
Pack them in the cavity and top off with wood glue. Let dry.
Thread strap button and screw back in hand tight.

Or if you wanna do it "the right way" - you can always get a dowel that size and blah blah blah.

Wood glue is good. But I use a 2-part putty type epoxy. It'll hold forever.

I screw a really big eye bolt in the stripped hole, with the strap on there, no need for straplocks after that. But I don't own anything worth more than $400 so there you go.

Go see a professional ...Mark Umphred - Luthier @ 716-418-3886 or split toothpicks in half along it's length and cut to size so as not to stick out of hole., line the hole with 4 to 8 pieces and use wood glue only ! Drive in screw 90% of the way and let set over night . After drive it tight . Have a nice day . In a hurry ? use "Super Glue " , less is more , be very careful. !!
