I was just going to post this. I am deeply saddened by this as he was one of my favs. I am glad I got to see his performance at U.B. a few years ago. He was in great form and people in the audience were literally standing and crying to watch him in action.

Yup, I see that now. Someone had emailed me an article saying it was a hoax.

I don't believe I've ever heard a Cocker penned tune. Did he just do covers or were those the only hits?

No, he was a cover artist, but he certainly did put his own spin on things and breathe new life into them.

I hope someday to have a voice as thick and raspy as Joe Cocker.

Considering all the singing and talking I do every week, my vocal chords should be sufficiently shredded soon...

This voice... When he sang "unchain my heart" I was in another world.. Amazing, characteristic singer. I don't believe it...:(
